Screamfest Alum ‘The Night Driver’ Acquired by Cineverse Following Festival Premiere
Screamfest is thrilled to announce that The Night Driver, which recently made its premiere right here at Screamfest, has officially been acquired for North American distribution by Cineverse.
The high-octane thriller-horror feature—starring Josh Lucas (Yellowstone), Alyssa Milano (Charmed), and David Arquette (Scream)—was picked up by Cineverse (the distribution force behind the blockbuster Terrifier franchise) in a competitive deal negotiated with VMI International.
Directed by Jeremy Weiss in his feature directorial debut, The Night Driver follows Hurdis Matheson (Lucas), a traveling pharmaceutical salesman racing home to his wife Cheryl (Milano). After surviving a terrifying encounter with a psychotic killer, Hurdis finds himself relentlessly stalked across the country, framed for a series of brutal murders, and hunted by a nationwide police force. It falls to Detective Granger (Arquette) to uncover the truth and prove Hurdis's innocence.
The film boasts a powerhouse creative team, featuring a screenplay by John Cork (also published as a graphic novel), production by Andre Relis, Jib Polhemus, and Jessica Russo, and executive production by Friday the 13th franchise creator Sean S. Cunningham.
Described by Cineverse as a suspenseful throwback reminiscent of classics like The Hitcher, The Night Driver promises to keep genre fans on the edge of their seats.
