Born in 1975, Vincenzo Ricchiuto graduated at DAMS, Bologna; he studied direction with Abel Ferrara. He also attended direction and screenplay writing at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, Florida, USA, and studied screenplay writing with Columbia University’s professors. He directed many short movies and music videos and he is also a satirical author and member of staff for Spinoza.it. He created music videos for international artists such as Robbie Williams and The Flaming Lips. Very fond about genre movies, his shorts films range between noir (Redial), horror-thriller (Chrysalis Hotel), black comedy (5 presents you should never ask Santa). His works have been awarded in many short films festivals and video music festivals, and been aired on Mtv, Deejay Tv, Rocktv and Rai5 . The Goldsmith (L’Orafo) is his first feature.
