The Mo brothers is a Jakarta based collective comprised of Timo Tjahjanto and Kimo Stamboel. Their paths first crossed in 2002, while students at the School of Visual Arts in Sydney. They collaborated on the psychological horror short film, ALONE (2003), after which Kimo went on to co-found his production house in Jakarta, while Timo worked as a storyboard artist and cameraman before studying at the New York Film Academy. In 2007, the duo got together once again to direct their internationally acclaimed short DARA, which would serve as the basis for its feature-length adaptation, MACABRE.
