Nathan Gallagher cultivated his obsession with film and filmmaking from an early age, watching classics with a particular interest in horror and science fiction. At the age of ten, he began participating as an actor in several short films and a zombie-themed feature. His directorial debut, a Western called “Little Miss Hysteria” made for the 2017 Detroit 48 Hour Film Project, was the winner of three awards. Now 23-years-old, Nathan is the writer and director of seven more short films, all of them set in and around the Detroit area. He is fascinated with the potential of film to capture ideas and human feelings that are often beyond words. His film school project, a psychological horror short called “Black and White” won the award for Best Kill in the Independent Horror Movie Awards and his recent film, “Wendigo” was selected by four film festivals, winning the award for Best Produced Screenplay in the Nooga Underground Film Festival. Nathan is a graduate of the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan and is currently studying film production at Wayne State University, set to graduate in Fall of 2022. His ultimate goal is to direct feature films for a major production company.
