Kira Powell is a director, writer and actor based in Los Angeles. Her stories are told and shaped through her unique experiences as a first generation multi-racial Black and Latina woman from Boston, MA. She started her career as a SAG-AFTRA actor, appearing in dozens of national commercials, working with many acclaimed directors including Larry Charles and John Hillcoat. She has also worked in film and television, most notably as part of the cast of the sci-fi/horror film, THE ENDLESS. Kira wrote and directed a one woman show, CAUGHT IN THE MIX, which garnered many awards and was selected to be a part of prestigious festivals including off-Broadway’s United Solo Fest. She has a B.A. in Mass Communication and is currently attending the American Film Institute for her MFA in Directing. Her most recent short, The Good Mother, which she wrote and directed, will be making its LA Premiere at the 2023 Screamfest Horror Film Festival.
