Born and raised in Portugal, Kika Magalhães emigrated to the United States over a decade ago to pursue a career in acting. Her most notable achievement came with "The Eyes of My Mother", a critically acclaimed horror film that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. In this role, she gained recognition from major outlets such as Variety and Rolling Stone, establishing herself as a talented actress with a passion for dark, immersive storytelling. Beyond acting, Kika has expanded her creative horizons by producing and writing her own projects. Among these are "The Girl in the Backseat" and "Stop Whining and Start Winning", the latter of which premiered at Beyond Fest and FilmQuest and features her alongside legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi. Her dancing background and having completed the rigorous acting program at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater, Kika is skilled in Meisner technique and speaks three languages fluently, adding depth to her ability to bring diverse characters to life. Kika is also a business owner alongside her family of a museum of cars and fashion in Spain. Now, she’s venturing into directing, eager to explore new facets of her career. With a unique blend of acting experience, creative vision, and a passion for storytelling, she is ready to carve out a path in filmmaking, bringing fresh and dynamic projects to life.
