Justin Janowitz has been living and working in Los Angeles since the early 2000’s and has become a respected and sought-after multi-faceted filmmaker. As a director, he found early success with the short horror film, APT. G that he created with producer Michael Kirk (The Grudge, Boogeyman, The Grudge 2), which premiered at Hollywood’s prestigious Screamfest horror film festival. Legendary actor and music enthusiast Kiefer Sutherland scouted Janowitz’s talent from his music videos (Stellar Corpses, Billy Boy on Poison) and tapped him to shoot and direct a multi-cam documentary project for music act “Rocco Delucca and the Burden” for his IronWorks record label. DO NOT WATCH is his narrative feature film debut as director. Janowitz has also directed content for Apple Music’s “Beats1”, Sony Online Entertainment/DC Comics, Ciroc Vodka, and more. He’s conducted interviews with the Dalai Lama, Danny DeVito, Pat Riley, Quincy Jones, Tony Robbins, Larry King, Scott Weiland, rock band Maroon 5, and more for various documentary projects. As a Director of Photography, Janowitz shot the docu-series UNSOLVED MYSTERIES Netflix reboot as well as the Hulu 6-part series CITY OF ANGELS, CITY OF DEATH that documents the chilling 1970s - 1980s era of rampant serial killers in Los Angeles and the detectives who brought them to justice. Feature-length films include documentaries BLOOD BROTHERS: MALCOLM X & MUHAMMAD ALI (Netflix) which chronicles the little-known relationship between the two men, THE WIZRD (Apple Music) about rap super-star Future, and narrative films A RECKONING with Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Terminator).
