John Berardo has been on the forefront of directing and producing since childhood. John Berardo has been on the forefront of directing and producing since childhood. As a native from Norman, Oklahoma, John always had an immense drive and the ability to expand his creative boundaries. After winning a student Emmy for technical achievement in 2005 for a local public service announcement, John ventured to California to begin his career as a director. Before starting the Cinema Production MFA program at USC, John received a BA from UCLA in Theatre directing and playwriting with a minor in Film, Television, and Digital Media. At UCLA he directed such plays as A Streetcar Named Desire and Arthur Miller's controversial After the Fall. During his time at USC, John has directed, written, and produced numerous short films and commercials for CBS, Disney, Vimeo, MTV, a fresh artist Subway webseries, and for non-profit organizations such as the Anxiety and Depression Association of America and True Spark. He has worked for and been mentored by such professionals as Jennifer Warren, Michael Taylor, and David Hoberman. In 2013 John directed a short film, Strings, produced by James Franco as party of feature anthology, The Labyrinth, set to release in 2014. After graduating USC, John started a production company, Shatterproof Films, with fellow class graduates. Shatterproof Films launched in August of 2013 by writing, directing, and producing music videos and commercials with plans for television and feature development and production.
