once upon a time in the midwest, Jason Affolder was born on a freight train. after mastering the art of karaoke, he began traveling the world and making up movies. he fights fires in his spare time..... The making of this short film was serendipitous, although it was born from misfortune: On Independence Day 2022, I was burned about the hands and neck while fighting a house fire in New Orleans (that's my day job). During the subsequent month that I spent convalescing, a friend informed me that his sprawling rental property was briefly vacant of any tenants. Meanwhile, another collaborator had recently established an acting studio, attracting a diverse stable of talent hungry to work on new projects. Suddenly I had the time, the place, and the players to make something unexpected happen. Seizing upon this opportunity, we quickly wrote the script, assembled the crew, dressed the location, and cast the project, which was then shot over the course of two intense days in mid-July. A minor miracle that all the pieces fell into place, but somehow it happened.
