Rebecca Berrih is a Paris-born, Los Angeles-based writer and director whose love for cinema began with her first theatrical experience watching GHOSTBUSTERS. Growing up in the VHS era, she rewatched her favorite films obsessively, sparking a passion that led her to start making short films at just 12 years old. After graduating from ETTIC, one of France’s top film schools, she directed her first short film, THE SPOT, launching her professional career. In 2007, she moved to Los Angeles to focus on writing and directing full-time, creating award-winning content, including the romantic comedy short 2 SCOOPS OF LOVE, selected for 15 international festivals. In 2018, she co-wrote and produced the sci-fi thriller BEYOND THE SKY, released by RLJE. Her work in horror gained recognition with GLITCH, a short film executive produced by Marianne Maddalena (SCREAM, THE HILLS HAVE EYES). The success of the proof-of-concept led to a feature screenplay, which reached the quarterfinals of the Nicholl Fellowship. The Academy praised GLITCH as: “An incredibly inventive horror thriller… A really cool take on a ghost story that isn’t a ghost at all… Crafted with skill, scenes are well-constructed and flow smoothly into one another.” Rebecca’s latest work, SLOW, is a proof-of-concept short film that she wrote, directed, and produced. She is currently developing the feature version. Still addicted to movies and massive re-watcher, Rebecca is now working on casting GLITCH, the feature. Read less
