HUMBERTO BUSTO (México, 1978) is a graduated student of Dramatic Arts at Universidad Autónoma de México (CUT). He´s a Berlinale Talents attendant of studio programmes and workshops with Mike Leigh, Stephen Frears, Alan Parker, Wolfgang Becker and Frances McDormand.Has worked as an actor in more than 20 films screened at international film festivals in Cannes, San Sebastian, Karlovy Vary, Berlin and Vancouver, such as Amores Perros,Morirse en Domingo, Después de Lucía, Abolición de la Propiedad and The Incident. He has studied filmmaking in Los Angeles at CSUN in an interchange programme with Catedra Bergman UNAM 2015. And directing and writing workshops with Beatriz Novaro, Naomi Uman, Ignacio Ortiz, Jorge Ayala Blanco, Victor Gaviria, Roland Schimmelpfennig, among others. Has written and directed the shortfilms: Three Songs that suddenly stop but Never End, Even a prune ripens, Erlösung and Botero´s Tit ( La teta de Botero ). The last one was nominated for an Ariel ( Mexican Cinema Awards ) as best short film 2106. JULKITA is his last project and is preparing his first feature film called Veneno Sabroso ( Tasty Poison ).
