A lifelong film fanatic, he got his professional start making monsters for the TV series THE X-FILES. As a self taught special effects make-up artist and puppeteer, he's gone on to work on many shows, such as I, ROBOT, WATCHMEN, CABIN IN THE WOODS, ELYSIUM and DEADPOOL. On these sets, he has used the opportunity to closely observe a diverse range of top directors such as James Cameron, Lawrence Kasdan, John Carpenter, Duncan Jones, Zak Snyder and Neill Blomkamp. Additionally, Geoff has worked extensively as a puppeteer and prosthetic performer, where he has explored the other side of the camera. He had the privilege to work with veteran Henson puppeteers on several occasions and has acted opposite great talents such as Kathy Bates, Harry Dean Stanton and Callum Keith Rennie. This experience gave him valuable insight as a director. Over the past eight years, Geoff has focused on writing and directing. With a number of successful short films, Geoff was accepted into The National Screen Institute's Drama Prize Program where he wrote and directed THE AUBURN HILLS BREAKDOWN. This horror comedy short has played worldwide and won awards at festivals like Comic-Con and Fanstatisk (Scandinavia's top genre festival) and was named '"Top Horror-Comedy Short of 2009" by the popular website Horror.com. Geoff followed this with LAST CHRISTMAS, an ambitious short film that also received several awards and nominations for acting, writing and filmmaking. Geoff also attended the NSI's Features First program with his script, HANGFIRE. This project won The Jim Murphy Marketing Bursary, was a semi-finalist (top 1%) in the 2012 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition and won the '"Golden Feather" Award at the Reykjavik International Film Festival. With his script, '"Extraction," Geoff participated in the Women In Film Development Accelerator in Toronto and received an Honorable Mention in The Superchannel Market Accelerator. Geoff has received Development Funding from Telefilm Canada for his feature version of THE AUBURN HILLS BREAKDOWN and HANGFIRE. Read less
