In 2008, at the age of 20, Josh joined Brisbane based Perception Pictures and went on to direct the short films Embrace (2009), Deliberation (2010), and The Foal (2010), which collectively screened at screened at 50+ film festivals worldwide including Palm Springs, Brooklyn, Newport Beach and Whistler Film Festivals. After a three- year stint directing and editing commercial and documentary work, Josh co-wrote and directed the The Landing (2013), an ambitious period drama/ Sci-Fi short film, which made its world debut at the 46th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival where it won Best Short Film, qualifying it for the 2015 Academy Awards®. The Landing has gone on to win Best Short Fiction Film at the 2013 IPAF ATOM Awards and Best International Short Film at the 38th Cleveland International Film Festival in 2014. The film has also been nominated for Best Film at several Oscar qualifying festivals including Warsaw, Austin, Foyle and Flickerfest film festivals and screened at over 30 film festivals worldwide. Jade’s first feature as a producer, All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane, received a national theatrical and worldwide DVD release, as well as being broadcast in several countries. It was also officially selected for the Inside Film Awards and the AFI Awards, as well as winning the Audience Award at Nat Filmfestivalen in Denmark and Best Film at Barbican’s London Australian Film Festival. Since then, Jade has worked on several features in various roles including Chris Nyst’s Crooked Business as Line Producer, feature documentary My America as Associate Producer and Production Manager, Crawl as Production Manager and New Holland Pictures production Iron Sky as Production Coordinator. From 2011 to 2013, Jade worked with Brisbane/Sydney company Wild Fury (now Wild Bear Entertainment) on various documentaries features, series and one-offs. In early 2014, Jade Line Produced and Production Managed Christopher Fitchett’s directorial comeback film The Fear of Darkness under producer Mark Overett. In between feature projects, Jade has produced several short films including The Foal, which won Best Film at the 2010 In the Bin Film Festival, the 2010 Shorts on the Green Film Festivals and the 2011 Angry Film Festival. It also placed as 1st Runner Up of the Super Short Golden Oosikar Award at the 2010 Anchorage International Film Festival. The film has screen at over forty international and national film festivals including Palm Springs, Brooklyn, Rhode Island, Long Island, Fort Lauderdale, Newport Beach, St Louis, Whistler, St Kilda and Dungog film festivals.
