Matt Palmer is a filmmaker who lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has just completed his third short film, The Gas Man, made for Rankin's Collabor8te scheme. His second short film Island, was made under the flagship Film4 / UK Film Council short film scheme Cinema Extreme – this and his first short, Daylight Hole, were both a success on the International Film Festival circuit. Island was also nominated for a Scottish BAFTA Award. Matt also programmes cult film festivals (Cult!, Psychotronic Cinema, Wild Japan, All Night Horror Madness) which have toured UK Cinemas, screening at venues including the National Film Theatre, Edinburgh Filmhouse and the Irish Film Institute. Matt is currently developing his feature debut, Calibre, with support from MEDIA, Creative England and Creative Scotland. Anna Griffin and Alastair Clark produce for Wellington Films, an award winning UK based production company founded by Clark and his partner, Rachel Robey. Wellington's debut feature, London to Brighton, earned the company the Best Achievement in Production award at the 2006 British Independent Film Awards and a nomination at the London Critics Circle Film Awards for British Producers of the Year. The company's other credits include Duane Hopkins' critically acclaimed debut feature, Better Things, and Alexis Dos Santos' festival hit, Unmade Beds. Wellington's current slate, including Matt Palmer's feature debut, Calibre, is supported by MEDIA, Creative England, Creative Scotland, BFI and Ingenious. The Gas Man was made as part of Rankin's Collabor8te scheme and gained it's UK premiere at FrightFest and Canadian premiere at Fantasia. ScreamFest will be the film's US premiere. www.wellingtonfilms.co.uk Read less
