No.
Yes, screenwriters are able to submit the same script or a new draft of the same script submitted the previous year as long as it currently meets our eligibility requirements.
This year’s notification dates are as follows:
SEMI-FINALISTS & FINALISTS will be announced in October
The WINNING screenplay will be announced on the Closing Night of the Festival.
Our extended deadline is June 15th. Due to the amount of submitted screenplays that are being read and the written requested feedback, our readers are working until the festival begins. You should receive your next email notification sometime in October near the festival dates announcing the semi-finalist on our website. If you requested feedback you will receive an email sometime after the festival ends, most likely mid November. Please check your spam folder if you are not receiving emails from Screamfest.
Only if you request feedback on your submission form when you submit your screenplay online. Feedback will be emailed mid November to the email address you provided on your submission form. You do not need to contact us unless you do not receive feedback after mid November. Please check your junk folder as our mail sometimes ends up there.
Please proofread your script very carefully before you submit it. It takes a great deal of time to record your submitted screenplays and to distribute, read, and evaluate your scripts, so once you’ve submitted your entry we cannot accept any rewrites, revisions, or corrected pages under any circumstances.
If you have made extensive revisions, you may wish to enter a new submission of your screenplay and pay the entry fee.
