After graduating with honors from the University of Colorado at Boulder (go Buffs), Tom moved to Los Angeles in 2001 and tutored under filmmakers Ed Zwick, Marshall Herskovitz and John Woo. After striking out on his own with the terribly-named short film “Storytime for Danny”, Tom was lucky enough to win awards across the country for other shorts including “I Will”, “Adam & Evelyn” and “Sleeping Dogs Lie.” In 2018, working alongside longtime collaborator Johnny Giacalone, Tom made his feature-directing debut with the film “30 Nights” which debuted on Amazon Prime. Although horror films have always been his favorite genre, “Static” is his first attempt at making one. In addition to filmmaking, Tom enjoys working for the child literacy non-profit Young Storytellers, playing with his dog Foster, and writing about himself in the third person.
