Eileen Alvarez (Writer/Director): Eileen Álvarez is a Latinx Writer/Actor/Director who grew up in San Francisco, and was raised by political activist parents who fled Argentina in exile, during the "Dirty War." Eileen Alvarez (Writer/Director): Eileen Álvarez is a Latinx Writer/Actor/Director who grew up in San Francisco, and was raised by political activist parents who fled Argentina in exile, during the "Dirty War." Eileen received a degree in Philosophy from UCLA, an M.F.A from the Actors Studio, and made her directorial debut with Finding Mabel, an award winning feature film about Argentina's 30,000 Disappeared. Her sophomore film Grit, won several festivals awards, and was picked up by Elizabeth Banks' Whohaha. In 2020, Eileen's comedy Pilot Güera took home first place during the Page International Screenwriting Awards, and in the same year she joined the writers' room for the adult animated series Close Enough, for HBOMax. *With the script for "Mama Retreat", Eileen landed one of four spots in the 2021 Latinx WOC Short Film Incubator program sponsored by NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers) & NETFLIX, with which the production of the film was made possible. Eileen is managed by Stagecoach Entertainment and Repped as a writer by The Gersh Agency. *2021 Nalip/Netflix Latinx WOC short film incubator program has not been announced publicly yet.
