Valerie Barnhart is a director, writer, animator, and artist based in Ottawa, Canada. Coming from a Visual Arts background graduating with a BFA from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design. She made waves on the festival circuit in 2019 with her completely handcrafted animated true crime, docu-horror. Girl in the Hallway screened at 114 festivals winning 27 awards including qualifying for the oscars in both short doc and short animation categories. She co-wrote, designed, animated, and acted in her second film called "What the Hell" produced at NFB/ONF. She is currently developing her next project.
