French filmmaker and screenwriter Julien Hosmalin launched his career in 2011 after a year as an editor. He quickly established himself as a director of video clips for some 30 renowned artists such as Wax Tailor, Eagle Eye Cherry, Orelsan, Bigflo and Oli, accumulating to date over 500 million views on YouTube for all of his productions. Since 2015, he has made a name for himself directing several short films, including Magic world, which won several awards and was selected for festivals such as Les Films du Monde de Montréal. His short film Lead me home, made in March 2016, laid the groundwork for the development of a Wolves in pack series. In 2017, he wrote and directed another short film, Ride Sally Ride, produced by Origine Film and broadcast in turn on Prime Vidéo, OCS or myCANAL. Over the next five years, Julien Hosmalin devoted his time to developing two feature films with Same Player. The first, Ferris Wheel, a family drama set in the fairground world, is scheduled for shooting in summer 2024. The second, still in writing, is an adaptation of Henri Loevenbruck's novel Nous rêvions juste de liberté. In 2023, he directed Héritage, a commissioned film for artists Tayc and Dadju, released in October on YouTube and totaling over 1 million views in 6 days. Julien then wrote and directed the short film Girls, produced by Same Player and Kalpa Films, in official selection at Gérardmer.
