Bryan “Bubba” Perez has been a cinephile for as long as he can remember. Some of his earliest memories are of watching movies like Star Wars, Scarface, and Tommy Boy, films that helped spark a lifelong love of cinema. Despite growing up just a stone’s throw from Hollywood, he wouldn’t make the move to pursue filmmaking until 2023, when he began studying at the New York Film Academy. Since then, filmmaking has become a central part of his life. His work has ranged from narrative shorts, including his most recent film, Cuddled, to creating an “Adopt-a-Sockothon” commercial for the local business Puppets By Eliza. When he isn’t making movies, you can usually find him camping out at the Egyptian or Aero for a classic film marathon, or scouring the Criterion Collection for the next addition to his ever-growing library. As a filmmaker, Bubba hopes to create memorable stories that stay with audiences long after the credits roll.
