Synopsis
A famous horror novelist returns to an isolated farm to say goodbye to her dying father. There, she discovers that the enigmatic young woman taking care of him knows more than she lets on, the monstrous imaginary insect that tormented her in childhood may be more real than she ever thought.

Martín Florio is an Argentine screenwriter, writer, and film director, born in Buenos Aires in 1972. He studied Film Directing at the Instituto de Arte Cinematográfico de Avellaneda — IDAC — and has worked for many years as a director, producer, and creative director. He created and produced the feature documentary "The Penultimate Truth About Philip K. Dick" and the cult television series "Cuentos de Terror con Alberto Laiseca". He is also the author of the novel El nombre de todos los árboles (2023).
Martin Florio is the screenwriter of the horror feature Las Tías (The Aunts, 2024), and the writer-director of Insecta (2026). His new film follows Mercedes, a successful Mexican horror novelist who returns to an old family estate to care for her father, who suffers from senile dementia. Once there, she begins to sense the presence of a monstrous insect that attacks the inhabitants of the house at night, driving them into madness. The film stars Mayra Hermosillo and Luis Felipe Tovar.
