Throughout his twenties, Josiah’s path was unconventional—he spent time in a cult, juggled music projects, and worked in grocery stores. But at age 29, he made a sharp turn: he decided to become a director. To fund his weekend-short-films, he sold all his music and recording equipment. His film school became YouTube, Film Riot, and NoFilmSchool. For the next five years, he made scrappy, no-budget short films, each one a deliberate step toward mastering a specific aspect of the craft.
In 2022, he moved to Los Angeles, surviving on a freelance gig as an assistant producer on an indie documentary. During that time, he co-wrote Very Prosperous Men with childhood friend Josh Oakley.
Josiah is currently developing the feature-length version of Very Prosperous Men, along with several other projects.
