Tim Delaney exists and is considered a member in good standing of his species. Born in the great state of New York, Tim has made films all his life. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, winning Best Undergraduate Screenplay, and briefly flirted with a stable job as a financial software engineer before deciding life without film was rubbish. To the dismay of his parents and bank account, he joined NYU's Graduate Film Program, where he honed his craft as a storyteller before graduating in 2020. Tim believes firmly in the power of genre to recontextualize familiar and fun iconography around powerful, personal narratives. He tells stories of lonely obsessives, oddballs isolated from an indifferent world. The Night Nurse, his thesis project at NYU, exemplifies this approach, as does his forthcoming feature, The Plutonains, an acerbic and uproarious comedy about the 2006 conference where Pluto was officially disbarred. Tim is a 2020 Sundance Institute / Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellow for The Plutonians, as well as the recipient of the NYU Sloan Foundation Feature Film Award . Read less
