Director Karl Holt hates to write biographies about himself in the third person. But, I do like making films. Back in 2006 my first short Film 'Eddie Loves You' won a handful of awards on the indie horror festival circuit, the most notable being the Audience Choice award at the New York Horror Film Festival. The following year we had another short 'Halfway' screen at NYHFF, Screamfest, and Frightfest (The Zone Horror film competition in which we came 3rd). In 2011 'Negative Image' won best short at Shriekfest and also Master Of The Scream at Cinefantasy. Since then,I've knuckled down to take the original 'Eddie Loves You' and turn the idea into a re-worked feature. Written in 2013, "Benny Loves You" was set to be my first ever self-financed feature. Shot in the summer of 2014 and 2015 with a crew of mostly 2-3 people, it's taken several more years of post production to finally get my feature out and into festivals.
