Derek Carl is a director based out of Portland, OR. He was born in Seattle, Washington, and studied Civil Engineering at Gonzaga University. But after graduating, Derek couldn't help but pursue his passion for film, and later moved to Portland, Oregon where he began his filmmaking career. Derek is the co-founder of Portland-based Flagship Features, and the founder of New York-based Coalition Studios. The Brain That Wouldn't Die is Derek's feature length directing debut.
