Damon Rickard (co-director) This is Damon's first professional project having previously done low to no budget music videos for unsigned bands such as this one take video with a band called The Fake - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmTDtXCRk44. Also bands such as Eusabio - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ggpQAmY8Go and Cooperbrown - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOgDz8tMkmw Damon and Alex met 17 years ago whilst working in a video shop together. Through their love of films and especially horror they formed a friendship which has lasted. Having always wanted to make films they finally put pen to paper and co-wrote The Tour. Wanting to keep the principle cast and number of locations minimal they decided upon writing a haunted house story. They also wanted to do something not often done in short films which is have a clear beginning, middle and end. Whilst they all have a narrative, the short film medium is more often suited to presenting ideas and showcasing the talent but they wanted The Tour to feel like a feature; just shorter. Managing to secure an exceptionally talented cast and crew it looked like their dreams of making a film were about to become a reality. As with all low budget filmmaking, The Tour had its fair share of trials and tribulations to bring to the screen but it was all worthwhile. It was even shot in a house which is genuinely considered haunted and there were one or two strange occurrences which kept the crew slightly on edge through the night part of the shoots. So the journey which began in March 2013 when the first words were put down to now has finally seen their dream come to fruition with The Tour.
